 You have to go through creating bad work in order to reach the point where you make work that excites you. You'll make lots of paintings that suck. Your first fifty attempts at writing a novel or script might suck. However you have to note this. By going through the crappy phase, you learn the skills and build the framework that allows you to produce great work. You won't pop off from the get go.
