You're Not Your Work
We often get our personalities wrapped up into the work that we create. It is understandable. As creatives we usually put ourselves into our work since art is a form of self-expression. Nevertheless it is important to understand that in as much as you channel yourself into your creations, the things you make aren't you—only a reflection of your knowledge, skills and abilities at this material moment.
When people critique your work, don't take it as a personal attack. Be objective and try to parse out the truth in their observations and work on these gaps in your knowledge so as to elevate your work.
This can be hard to do but it makes for a happier creative life in my opinion.
